The Bond County Ski Club provides  wonderful recreational access to the lake.  This is city owned property that is leased to the Ski Club to give non-property owners the opportunity to enjoy the lake from the land as well as the water.  As a member you have unlimited access to the clubhouse, grounds, docks and a boat launch area.  The clubhouse has a kitchen, living room with TV, and bathroom.  There is a nice sandy beach area and you can picnic or camp.  The docks have been replaced early this year, I haven't been over there to see exactly what they have done, but I am sure it is great.  All of this for only $125 per year for a family membership.  Call Matt Willman at a work number, 618-664-8965 for info about membership and a tour of the facilities.  Leave a message for him if he is not there.  Through the ski season you can also try to reach him at 618-664-6968

You must have a city boat permit to be able to put your boat on the lake as a member of the Ski Club or just  in general.  There are also two public boat launches to put your boat on the lake.  One is at the marina on Red Ball Trail and the other is by the water plant off of Idler Lane.  There are a limited number of "out of county" permits available if you do not own property in Bond County.  You can call city hall at 618-664-1644 to find out availability and cost.

An additional community and recreational service that the club provides are ski lessons to youngsters through the Kingsbury Park District.  This year they are scheduled a little differently.  They will be one week in length, but there will be three different weeks available and they will be in the evenings instead of the morning!

The Ski Club hosts a Ski Show about every other year boasting the talents, skill and training of the youngest beginners, through intermediate, advanced and even the "older die-hards"!!   This includes barefoot skiing, wakeboard skiing, para-sailing and more.

The INT Ski Tournament has also been hosted by the Ski Club for the past several years on the lake.  This year's date is July 27 and 28.
